Recommended Accommodation in Lancaster

Old Station House 25 Meeting House Lane, Lancaster LA1 1TX. Tel: 01524 381060. A good option for anyone coming by car and wanting to stay in the city centre. Also convenient for the station. This is a friendly, family run hotel. It is very popular so book early.

The Shakespeare 96 St. Leonards Gate, Lancaster LA1 1NN. Tel: 01524 841041. An historic inn in central Lancaster. Highly spoken of by everyone we know thats stayed there.

The Sun Hotel 63 Church Street, Lancaster, LA1 1ET. tel: 01524 66006. A very impressive hotel, and a great option for food and ale lovers. Book early as this is a popular hotel.

Penny Street Bridge Penny St, Lancaster LA1 1XT. Tel: 01524 599900. A new hotel. We don't know anyone who's stayed there yet, but it looks nice.

There are several other options in and around Lancaster, some good but several in need of modernisation (or just demolishing). Note several chain hotels including the Holiday Inn are located near junction 34 of the M6, which is both a bike/car journey to central Lancaster and to the University. If you would prefer to stay in the Lancashire countryside we recommend The Mill Inn.
