Accommodation is in John Burnet Hall, a University student residence: this can accommodate about 100 conference participants.
Full board bookings only are available: these include dinner, bed, breakfast and lunch, with tea/coffee provided at the conference location (Lower College Hall), about 7 minutes walk away. Bookings are only available for multiples of one day, starting from before dinner (at 6.30pm) and finishing after tea.
Standard rate rooms have a single bed, washbasin, towels and phone facilities. Separate showers and bathrooms are nearby. Some such rooms are in fact twin rooms, so if you and a friend wish to share a room, please say so: but there is, alas, no reduction in the charge per person, except that if the other person is not a conference participant, there is a reduction, and we can be flexible about the restriction to "full board bookings only": please enquire separately about this.
Superior rate rooms (only available for a minimum of four days) have these with a private loo and shower, and are not so numerous.
If you prefer to arrange your own accommodation, an additional fee of 10 pounds, plus 10 pounds per day, is payable, since the payments for the University accommodation cover also tea/coffee and lecture room hire, etc. This payment covers the conference dinner and lunches in John Burnet Hall, but not other meals.
Such accommodation can be arranged directly with hoteliers etc: details from the St Andrews Tourist Information Centre, phone +44-1334-472021, or from the Scottish Tourist Board.
